Berowra Heights – Kita Road

Ensure Waterproofing & Remedial Building were engaged to carry out full balcony waterproofing rectification works to Units 7 and 8 at 6–12 Kita Road, Berowra Heights. Both balconies were experiencing membrane failure and water ingress, requiring a complete strip-out and rebuild.

The works involved:

Demolition of existing finishes and brickwork
Installation of new PVC cavity flashings, pressure equalisation weepholes and a fully welded Fatrafol PVC 807V membrane system.
Existing aluminium door suites were temporarily removed to allow for new subsill trays, then reinstated with weatherproof trims.
To ensure long-term durability, new tiling screeds with anti-efflorescence additives were installed, topped with Class III waterproofing membranes before re-tiling.
The balustrade walls were over-flashed and treated with elastomeric coatings, while new metal cappings were installed to protect balcony edges.

This remediation restored watertightness, improved balcony drainage, and provided a robust finish that will serve residents well into the future.
