North Avoca – Harcourt Place

At Harcourt Place, Ensure Waterproofing & Remedial Building were engaged to remediate the first-floor balcony, which had been affected by membrane failure and ponding issues.

The works involved:

Demolition of existing tiles and bedding
Temporary removal of the balustrade, and full substrate preparation.
New falls were created to improve drainage performance
Installation of a fully adhered Fatrafol PVC 807V membrane system with cross-cavity flashing upgrades and detailed connections at penetrations.
Water testing was undertaken to confirm system integrity before finishes were reinstated.
To complement the new PVC system, perimeter eaves gutter details and new metal fascias were installed, ensuring efficient water discharge and a robust, long-term finish.
The balcony was then rebuilt with a new tiling screed and paver system, balustrades were reinstalled, and timber cladding reinstated at membrane junctions.
