Albany Street – Balcony Rectification Works Point Frederick, NSW

Ensure Waterproofing & Remedial Building were engaged to carry out major balcony rectification works to multiple units. The project addressed long-term water ingress and membrane failures, requiring a full strip-out and rebuild of the balcony waterproofing systems.

Works included:

Demolition of existing finishes.
Installation of new PVC cavity flashings.
Construction of concrete hobs to improve drainage and waterproof detailing.
A fully welded Fatrafol PVC 807V membrane system was installed, with integrated subsill trays beneath door thresholds to ensure watertight connections.
New Hebel wall sections and cavity brickwork were reinstated with pressure equalisation weepholes.
Tiling screeds with anti-efflorescence additives were applied and finished with a Class III polyurethane membrane system.
The balconies were then re-tiled, joints sealed, and balustrade walls treated with an elastomeric acrylic coating to complete the works.

All works were carried out under the Design & Building Practitioners Act 2020, with regulated designs submitted through the NSW Planning Portal.

This comprehensive remediation restored full waterproofing integrity, extended the durability of the balconies, and improved liveability for the residents.
